"I will be trying to leave enough room for audience questions and participation. I also bring a lot of illustrations, but they are not, alas, in a powerpoint form. (I don't have the machinery at this time, for one thing.) For the time being, I bring a lot of books and pass the illustrations around, plus read some critical passages from the masters' own writings (for example, their songs of realization, known as dohas, etc.) so people can get some idea of their voice."
Victoria Huckenpahler has been attempting (her words) to practice the Dharma for over thirty years, and has been deeply privileged to take teachings from masters of all four sects (Nyingma, Kagyu, Sakyapa, and Gelukpa), plus the Bon. She has written extensively for Snow Lion (interviews with masters and reports on events), have edited books by Khenchen Konchog Gyaltsen, Abbot of the Drikung Kagyu, and for the last 14 years have been running a one-woman prison program, the Victory Banner Project. The latter involves corresponding with prisoners practicing Buddhism and answering their questions. She has also produced a Buddhist prison newsletter and has self-published several Dharma-related books for prisoners.
